for students who are struggling with looking at an equation and being able to graph the transformations: buy pipe cleaners and used the graph side of white boards. Write a parent function on the board and add one transformation at a time. Students should manipulate the pipe cleaner on the board as the transformation is written. Really clicks for some students.
